Burnt Turkey

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Michelle's Parents and then spent Saturday afternoon with the Pippert family. Unfortunately, little Drew put his hands on the wood burning stove and burned them pretty badly. He was a miserable little guy until we took him to the emergency room where he got a shot of morphine. They gave me one too which made us both feel better. (Kidding of course) His hands are healing pretty well but he has huge blisters which are starting to peel. He makes frowny faces when we take off the band aids so it must hurt him but he's being a good sport. He's walking all over and trys really hard to talk to us.

Jackson is growing so fast and is totally into fire fighting. He was a fire fighter for Halloween. Everyday he pretends he's a firefighter and wears his "bunker gear". We've been to the fire station three times and checked out every book from the library on firefighting. He thinks he'd like to have a fireman birthday party for his 3rd birthday.
Jon and Michelle are doing well. We are all getting over the flu but life is good.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game/ Drew turns ONE

We went to the Portland Beavers minor league baseball game on Labor day. It was a lot of fun. Jackson has become baseball crazy. He has us tell him baseball stories and wants to be a catcher for halloween. When we got to the game we were surprised to learn that the mascot was named Boomer the Beaver. We thought that was a crack up because we call Drew "Boomer". Jon said it was one of the funnest Labor days he can remember.....(which doesn't mean he hasn't had better. He just can't remember) (Here's a video of Jackson singing "take me out to the ball game" it's hard to hear so turn up your volume)

Drew Turned ONE on August 29..We were so excited to celebrate with him. He's crawling all over. He gets up and down the stairs really well and is learning how to turn around and slide on his tummy. Unfortunately he forgets sometimes and has had a few tumbles down the stairs. We can't believe he is one already. It's been a great year

June 1 2007

Drew went in for his 9 month appointment today and Dr Craft said we can start giving him finger foods. I tried some finger foods at lunch time today and it kept him much more interested than playing with the same old toys. He sat quietly in his high chair for 15 minutes. Which is unheard of for him. He did drop half the raisins down his shirt but not too bad for a first try and much tastier than paper.

Jackson LOVES "Dora the Explorer" and "Go Diego Go" His vocabulary has increased substantially in the last month since he has fallen in love with them. He now says things like "What should we do?" "In Spanish we say Hola" "The Spooky Forest" He knows about 3 toed sloths, lamas, humpback whales, octopuses, maned wolfs and a number of other animals that I hadn't heard of before watching Diego.

We just got our "new" car. It's a 2003 Land Rover Freelander. Our Mercedes had over 200,000 miles....at least we think so. We aren't quite sure because the odometer broke about 6 months ago. It needs about 2000 dollars in repairs plus a new air conditioner. Having an old car helps me really appreciate our new car.

Jon is still working away on the maids. It seems like every few days he comes home and says "today we had our best day ever." I think he really enjoys it. Life is good. We'll write more soon.

Pippert Family Blog

Hi..just decided to start a blog so we could keep in touch with everyone we love...that would be you. We thought it might be fun also to become a little more technologically advanced. Probably just another thing on our to do list. But we will see how it works.
