July 9: This morning we went to see my Brother and Sister-n-law. It was good to finally see my brother, Michael (Uncle Mike). We've been trying to hook up for a couple of days. It was his first time meeting Sadie. I think it was his first acquaintance with Boomer too.
I signed up for the Spud Man Triathlon this weekend so I decided I better get online and read about packet pickup. Imagine my surprise when I realized that I signed up for a full olympic triathlon and not a sprint. Really?? I usually have better attention to detail than this. So I will be swimming about a mile, biking 24.8 miles, and a 10 K (6.2 mile) run. OK seriously? I haven't exercised since the last triathlon a month ago. I'm not sure if I can do it but I'm going to give it a try. Be prepared for me to have a last place finish.
After Sadie's nap we went to vist my mission companion, formerly know as Sister Hurdman. (Now Becky) She was one of my favorite companions. I think we were together for about 5 months, the last 5 months of my mission. We had all kinds of adventures together in Brazil. It was great to see her again.
I picked up my packet and freaked out a little about the distance...bought a new swimsuit and a camelback backpack. Early to bed tonight. Hopefully I can post tommorow...if I'm still alive.
