Welcome to Boise Idaho

On Monday we came to Boise so Jon could babysit his Maids Business . We are staying in a small 2 bedroom 2 bath furnished apartment. Our days won't be any more eventful than in Oregon but we'll give you a rundown anyway. Be prepared for many boring blogs:

Monday July 5: The boys and Dad drove the 6-7 hour drive to Boise. They did great considering the distance. They watched The Princess Bride, ate breakfast at Starbucks and stopped in Baker City to have lunch with Cousin (Jon's Nephew) Cory. They stopped for supplies at Costco and then picked Mom and Sadie up at the Airport. Sadie can not stand the car and starts crying after about ten minutes. Were not sure if it's the car seat or the restrictive nature of the car seat. Were going to buy her a new seat while were here and see if the situation improves. While the boys and Dad went swimming Mom and Sadie put away clothes and got things organized. Followed by a trip to Target for some necessities.

Tuesday July 6: We woke up early for swim lessons at the local YMCA. They have a great aquatic center so we scheduled the boys for swim lessons before coming. Boomer thought the swim lessons were great and Jackson thought they were boring.
Sadie took a nap and then we went to see my Sister-in-law and nephews Jake and Bryce. Boomer had a great time with his cousins but Jackson didn't think it was fun. He didn't like that they were shooting him with toy guns while they were playing cops and robbers. My Brother and his family just moved to Boise about two weeks ago from Texas ago. What a great benefit to have family here.
On the way home, Sadie and Boomer fell asleep in the car so we continued driving to the nearest mall and got to know Boise a little better. We ate dinner from Jon's favorite empanada restaurant followed by a swim in the apartment pool.
Later that evening I went on a shopping spree: Target (home necessities), Home Depot (carpet wrap), The Children's Place (sunglasses) , Gymboree(pajamas), Bath and Body Works (wall flower air freshener). Boise has many of the same stores that Portland has. To my dismay they are lacking Trader Joes, and Whole Foods. I don't think they believe in organic or recycling here. That's just for the hippies along the coastline. However, I was delighted to see that they have a Home Goods/Marshalls all in one store. Can't wait to go shopping there.
Jon and I spent a lovely evening together cleaning chairs and putting plastic wrap all over the floors and chairs. (I don't know the technical name but it's most commonly used in model homes to protect the carpet.) The chairs are fabric covered and were looking terrible after just 2 days of strawberries, burritos and almond butter.
see how well they work:
